Flooded Basement-Honesdale, Pa.

Heavy rains cause ground saturation which led to the water penetrating this Honesdale basement causing the basement to flood. The wet carpet through a phenomenon of "wicking" which is when the sheet rocked walls soak up the moisture from the bottom up. Since these were insulated walls flood cuts were required to remove both insulation and wet sheet rock to avoid any microbial growth. Flood cuts are common in flooded basement situations. As a full service restoration company, we were able to re-insulate, place the sheet rock and carpet padding as part of the restoration of this basement.
